Fort George

Fort George, located in Niagara-on-the-Lake, played a significant role in the War of 1812 as a key strategic point for the British forces. It was the final resting place for Major General Sir Isaac Brock, a military hero known as the "savior of Upper Canada," who died in the Battle of Queenston Heights in October 1812. Brock and his aide-de-camp John Macdonell were originally buried within the fort, marking their sacrifice for the British cause.

Who was Laura Secord?

She was Canada’s heroine who played a huge part in the War of 1812. On June 21, 1813 some American officers forced their way into her home to which she shared with her husband, James Secord.

Brock's Monument

The Brock’s Monument National Historic Site is located on the grounds of the historic “Battle of Queenston Heights” in 1812. While giving beautiful views of the area from an astonishing 56 metres in height, the monument which was rebuilt in 1853 after being bombed by a terrorist in 1840, holds significance for Canadian heritage.
