The Battle of Fort George event
To commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Fort George, this Memorial Day weekend from Saturday, May 25th to Monday, May 27th, come and visit the Fort George Historical Site at 26 Queen’s Parade, Niagara-on-the-Lake. This will be a memorable event in which the U.S. bombardment of Fort George will be re-enacted. Step back in time and experience the Battle of Fort George first-hand from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm all weekend. Costumes, re-enactments, music, muskets, cannons and so much more will be featured at this Niagara Falls event.

On Saturday, May 25th at 2:00 pm begins “Part 1” of the Battle of Fort George event. At 8:00 pm the fort gates will reopen for the evening show, in which there is limited capacity so you are required to purchase your tickets at the Fort George Visitors Centre or by phone at 905-468-6614. At 9:00 pm is when the U.S. bombardment will be recreated…200 years to the day!
On Sunday, May 26th at 10:00 am, a parade featuring British and American soldiers will stomp through Niagara-on-the-Lake. Then, at 2:00 pm, you are invited to watch “Part 2” of the re-enactment of the Battle of Fort George occurring on The Common. There is no admission fee to watch the battle on either day on The Common outside Fort George. You are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets — and the whole family for this Niagara Falls event!
At 7:00 pm on Monday, May 27th, 2013, on the exact date and battlefield site on the Niagara Rifle Range on the Lakeshore Properties, you are invited to pay tribute to all the fallen soldiers during the Battle of Fort George. For more information on this event please click here.
