Formed in Toronto, Canada in early 2014, the quintet proposes a faithful reproduction of the Steve Perry era of the San Francisco act, enriched with audience interactivity, projections, backdrops and true-to-the-original costume changes. AJT doesn’t aim to be a plain carbon copy of the real thing: every effort on stage, from singing and playing to the moves, is so natural and heartfelt that it captivates even the most skeptical critic.
Question and Answer Interview Conducted by Christine Lynn with Absolute Journey Vocalist, Riccardo Curzi:
Q: What city/cities do the band members originate from?
A: Riccardo, the lead singer, was born in central Italy and moved to Canada in the last few years to jumpstart his music career. The band was born out of his vision and its success grew fast thanks to continuous efforts of all its members, which all reside in the Greater Toronto area.
Q: How long have you been playing together for?
A: The band has been actively playing for almost 3 years now. The official "birthday" is April 26th.
Q: Where have you performed, and do you have any upcoming shows?
A: We perform everywhere between North and Central America at casinos, theatres, music halls, festivals and corporate events. For most of us this is our full-time job and we are proud that the band is getting such great recognition very fast.
Q: Besides Journey, what are your other musical influences that inspire you?
A: We are all very fond of AOR and progressive rock. Bands like Def Leppard, Foreigner, Styx, Boston, Rush, Supertramp, and Queen make our playlists all the time.
Riccardo: "I have a genuine passion for the vastly influencial and criminally underrated British act called Def Leppard, and I am currently organizing another tribute to honor their career."
