Roger Daltrey stands as the founding member of The Who, initiating the band's formation in 1959 during his time at Acton County School. He recruited John Entwistle and later agreed to Pete Townshend joining the group. Daltrey's musical influences leaned towards blues and R&B, shaping the band's early repertoire. In December 2008, Daltrey and Townshend were awarded the prestigious Kennedy Center Honors in the United States, recognizing their significant contributions to culture.

Moreover, on March 24, 2011, Daltrey and his band performed a full rendition of Tommy at the Royal Albert Hall in London for a Teenage Cancer Trust event. The performance was accompanied by imagery created by students from Middlesex University, adding a unique dimension to the show.
