Keep the Kids Busy in Niagara Falls

Reading Time:  3 minutes -

It’s that time of the year again where the days (finally!) get longer, temperatures begin to warm up and people come out of hibernation. Children of all ages will be encouraged to get out and enjoy Spring time and with March Break less then a week away, Niagara Falls has your kids covered!
There are plenty of activities and events going on in Niagara, a lot of which is still very educational. The Niagara Falls History Museum has a couple of travelling exhibitions they have on show, including the “Art-of-Fact” exhibit put together by the Niagara Arts Company and the “Fakes and Forgeries” exhibit brought to you by the Royal Ontario Museum. An added March Break show from March 12th to the 15th includes a show presented by the Reptile Kingdom from 11:00 am-1:00 pm. Children will learn about certain reptiles and they will be encouraged to touch them as well! The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and admission is $5 for adults and $4 for children.

The Greg Frewin Theatre located on Ellen Avenue, just moments away from Clifton Hill, is gearing up for its “Imagine: The Magic of Greg Frewin” show. Children will love the spectacle of illusions, captivating performances, majestic tigers, exotic birds and beautiful dancers. It’s appropriate for all ages ands last approximately 2 hours in length. Prices range depending on seating, but it’s a great March Break option for your children to engage their imagination and keep them entertained!

Perhaps the most exciting March Break location of all, nicknamed appropriately “The Street of Fun by the Falls” is Clifton Hill itself! There is always something to see and do there, and March Break is no exception! There’s a wide array of attractions to choose from…museums and haunted houses to the Great Canadian Midway, a 70,000 square foot entertainment complex sure to keep your children entertained for HOURS! They also offer the Clifton Hill Fun Pass which is a 50% savings bundled into one that gets them some arcade tokens, the XD Ride Theatre, Ghostblasters Dark Ride, Movieland Wax Museum, the Niagara Skywheel and their choice of miniature golf: Galaxy Golf, which is a glow-in-the-dark 18-hole course or Dinosaur Adventure Golf, which is an outdoor course surrounded by gigantic pre-historic dinosaurs and even an “active” steam-erupting volcano…which is all set to reopen on Saturday, March 9th due to a rise in temperatures! Spring is officially around the corner!

The best part about all these options? The Niagara Transit system is offering 50 cent fares for elementary and high school students over the March Break! It’s the perfect local getaway for children and a break for you hard-working parents out there. Planning a March Break itinerary was the easy part, now getting them to put down the xbox controller is another challenge altogether….
