Yungblud on the OLG Stage

British singer and songwriter, Yungblud; known for his genre-blending style that fuses alternative rock, pop punk, and hip hop is praised for his fearless self-expression and energetic live performances. He began his career in entertainment as an actor, appearing in British TV series like Emmerdale and The Lodge, before transitioning to music in 2017 with his debut single “King Charles.” His breakout came with the 2018 EP Yungblud and debut album 21st Century Liability. 

He gained further acclaim with his second album Weird! (2020), which topped the UK Albums Chart, and his self-titled third album Yungblud (2022), which also reached number one in the UK. Cameo appearances from Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne in the music video for "The Funeral," in 2022 shot the music video's views to over 12 million on Youtube; and the song itself was streamed over 50 million times on Spotify and continues to be streamed over 50,000 times daily. 

Known for his outspoken personality and emotionally charged performances, Yungblud has become a voice for youth culture, often addressing themes like mental health, identity, and social issues in his music. Lyrically influenced by The Clash, Arctic Monkeys, and Eminem to name a few. He has also noted the genre-bending influences of Machine Gun Kelly, Kanye West, and Twenty One Pilots; and accredits his theatrical boldness, gender expression, and powerful confrontation of societal norms to the likes of David Bowie, Lady Gaga and Marilyn Manson. 

"Never apologize for anything. They will understand you later," words of the late Ozzy Osbourne. Osbourne shared words of wisdom and encouragement with Yungblud that developed a profound bond transcending mentorship. More recently, Yungblud performed Black Sabbath's, "Changes" at Ozzy Osbourne's farewell concert this past July. He later released the performance as a charity single, donating all proceeds to several UK children's hospitals and Parkinson's research. The song debuted at #1 on the UK Singles Download Chart. Yungblud has vowed to perform "Changes" at every performance as an honour to the great rock n' roll legend.

Yungblud just released his fourth album, Idols and is touring the globe. From Japan to Madrid, Yungblud is performing on stages all over the world, and is making a stop to the OLG Stage.
