BITTERSWEET: A Celebration of Beer, Honey and Hops!
Calling all Canadians! Victoria Day in Niagara Falls always draws crowds because of its entertainment value with all its family attractions and the Victoria Day weekend firework show. People near and far jam the streets and bring their joyous spirits to the streets of Clifton Hill and the surrounding tourist-driven districts. However, there is another event taking place at 16006 Niagara River Parkway, Niagara-on-the-Lake. Kurtz Orchards presents BITTERSWEET: A Celebration of Beer, Honey and Hops!
This is Niagara Falls’ biggest culinary event for Victoria Day Long Weekend. You get to enjoy some of the best craft brews, gourmet honey and food at Kurtz Orchards and Culinary Farm.
What is a “Hop”?
For those of you that don’t know, a Hop is a plant that is used to flavor and stabilize a beer. They are native to Canada and it is a bine; a flexible climbing plant which has stiff downward facing hairs to use as stability instead of tendrils or suckers to hold themselves in place. They grow 1 to 3 inches a day during its peak growth period. By late June or July the Hop will begin to bloom flowers, adding a unique taste to your beer!
