Walk the Niagara Parkway and experience the roar of the Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls from multiple viewing areas. Every overlook offers a different perspective, from the mist rising hundreds of feet into the air to the constant rainbow that often appears on sunny afternoons.
Unlike many world-famous natural attractions, there is no admission fee to enjoy the Falls themselves—they’re open 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
Insider Tip: Visit early in the morning for quieter viewing areas or return after sunset for an entirely different experience beneath the lights.
Watch the Free Nightly Fireworks

One of Niagara Falls’ signature summer traditions happens every evening.

The best part? There are countless free viewing locations.
Some favourite spots include:
- Queen Victoria Park
- Oakes Garden Theatre
- Clifton Hill
- Niagara Parkway
- Top of the Falls
Arrive 30–45 minutes early during weekends and holiday periods to claim a great viewing location.
Experience the Famous Falls Illumination
Long after the sun goes down, Niagara Falls continues to shine.
Every evening, powerful LED lights transform all three waterfalls into brilliant displays of colour. Throughout the summer, illumination begins at 8:30 p.m., with special themed lighting throughout the season, including Canada Day and Independence Day.
Watching the Falls change colours from Queen Victoria Park is one of Niagara’s most iconic—and completely free—experiences.
