Keep More Cash staying at the Comfort Inn on Clifton Hill

Reading Time:  4 minutes -

Let’s be honest, while Niagara Falls features one of the most beautiful natural wonders, it can also get quite expensive for travelers. When you begin to factor in accommodations, dining, transportation, and activities, you may find your finances stretched. Here are a few ways that staying at the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill will help you save more of your money, and allow you to enjoy your trip stress-free!
DINING

Hands down, the biggest seller to incoming travelers that make them choose the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill over other Niagara Falls hotels, is its location. Central to all the primary reasons as to why you would travel to Niagara Falls in the first place is made easy when staying at this hotel.
Starting with dining, some of the most popular Canadian and American chains, from fast food to sit-down family dining are literally just minutes from the lobby doors of the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill. Boston Pizza is just across the street, and Kelsey’s Niagara is actually attached to the hotel. You don’t even need to leave the building!
Choose from a few different options that this hotel offers which will offer you meal vouchers for up to a $40 savings. For example, packages such as the Niagara Couples Getaway, Family Fun Package, and the Casino 2-Night Stay Package offers these discounts on meals while staying here.
Additionally, a complimentary deluxe full breakfast buffet is served within the Poolside Café for every guest that stays at the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill. Right there you can eliminate the need to find a nearby restaurant that serves up local morning fare. Here you will get a wide variety of breakfast essentials: waffles, eggs, sausage, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, muffins, bagels, a variety of juices, milk, tea and coffee for starters.

ENTERTAINMENT & ATTRACTIONS

If you ask anyone that has been to Clifton Hill what we are most famous for on this street, the answer will always be “the attractions”. The entire street is lit up with attractions and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy from top to bottom. Canada’s largest observation wheel, the Niagara SkyWheel is found across the driveway from this Comfort Inn, along with a flurry of other popular Niagara attractions — and the most popular of them all, the majestic Niagara Falls is just a five-minute walk away.
The Clifton Hill Fun Pass is a money-saving attraction “must-do” with a 50% savings. This too is also offered within a package that you can include with your stay as a “Build-A-Package” option. Click here for details.
Ripley’s Museum, Fallsview Indoor Waterpark, and Greg Frewin are just a few other attractions that you can visit on a discount when you choose from a selection of “Build-A-Package” options that the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill offers — savings of up to 70% in some cases.

If nightlife is your thing, Rumours Night Club is attached to the same building as the hotel, making a night out a breeze! Dining, attractions, and enjoying alcohol without worrying about cab fare is convenient. Save money on all these aspects, including transportation and parking fees. There is absolutely no need to move your car from the hotel lot during your stay here.
SHOPPING

*Pictured Above: The Canada Trading Company. Located just outside the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill, you will find unique souvenirs here to commemorate your Niagara Falls trip.
Due to Clifton Hill being the central tourist destination for Niagara Falls travelers, you will finding shopping easy to do. There are discount stores, souvenir shops, and popular clothing stores on Clifton Hill and its other adjoining hot-spot streets, Falls Avenue and Victoria Avenue.
Only a few minutes by car will take you to the Canada One Outlets, in which you will find designer clothes at bargain prices (think Coach, Tommy Hilfiger, Danier Leather, Guess and Nine West), as well as the Fallsview Casino, that you can easily walk from the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill in 15 minutes. Here, there is a Galleria within this 180,000 square foot complex featuring unique finds, the “Avalon Ballroom” where the world’s top entertainers perform, and of course, the chance to win some serious cash on its gaming floor.

The Comfort Inn Niagara: A Hidden Gem Steps From Endless Fun

Reading Time:  3 minutes -

Niagara’s Comfort Inn Clifton Hill is one of this city’s staples. Located on the popular Clifton Hill strip, it is a tucked away hidden gem. The driveway leading to this Comfort Inn is a “blink-and-you-can-miss-it” patch of road. It’s sandwiched between the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum and the Wizard’s Golf . Once you turn down that narrow stretch of road and off the hustle and bustle of Clifton Hill, you will find the 185-room hotel tucked away to the right, directly adjacent to the Dinosaur Adventure Golf and North America’s famous 175-foot Niagara SkyWheel.
In the late 1950’s, the Park Motor Hotel (currently the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill) was built on a large portion of the former Bush estate. Harry Oakes owned the Park Motor Hotel and HOCO Entertainment & Resorts (Sir Harry Oakes Company) continues to own the hotel to this day. The Park Motor Hotel later transformed into the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill as part of the Choice Hotels franchise in the late 1980’s.

*Pictured Above: The Park Motor Hotel sign in the late 1950’s with the driveway and arrow leading to the hotel, and then the same view in 2015. The Comfort Inn is down that road to the right.
The Comfort Inn Clifton Hill’s location sets it apart from the rest. Not only is it situated right on Clifton Hill (Niagara’s entertainment and dining district), but it is just one block to the falls, and a few minutes walk from Fallsview Boulevard — the place to go for the newest and most contemporary restaurants and facilities such as the Fallsview Casino
The hotel is ideal for families looking to save time and money as the rates are reasonable and stay competitively lower than similar hotels nearby. You’ll cut your spending costs in half by parking in its available lot and leaving it there for the duration of your visit. Its close proximity to everything — literally a hop away from Niagara’s most popular attractions, make it a valuable selling point when looking for a good Niagara Falls hotel to stay at.
See for yourself what people are saying on Trip Advisor — this is why the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill was voted a “Traveler’s Choice 2013” award for being a top “Family Hotel”. You’ll notice a pattern of guests echoing the same sentiments of “location, location, location”.

*Just step out the doors to begin your Niagara Falls adventure!
You’ll enjoy friendly service, a giant indoor pool and whirlpool, ample parking, a free deluxe breakfast with your stay at the Poolside Cafe, free high-speed WI-FI internet access, and a wide selection of packages catered to what you want to experience. Whether it be tickets to the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark, the Greg Frewin Theatre, a custom Family Getaway, or if you are simply looking for a quick Niagara couples getaway, there are several packages available that allow you to experience a visit like no other!
On your next trip to Niagara Falls why choose any other hotel? Check out this hidden gem!

The Shaw Festival: What Fall Has In Store

Reading Time:  3 minutes -

*Pictured Above: Cabaret*

The Shaw Festival is now in its 53rd season this year, and just like our wine, it’s another feature to the beautiful and historic Niagara-on-the-Lake that makes us unique to Ontario.

Cabaret Trailor:

Carried through into the Fall season, the Shaw Festival presents 10 plays in four theatres until October 26. The Festival Theatre will stage three stunning productions, all definite “must-sees”. The celebrated Tony Award-winning musical “Cabaret” is the talk of the town with its stunning visuals and costumes. A classical romantic comedy, “The Philadelphia Story” enjoyed a great turn on Broadway before becoming an Oscar-winning film. Looking for something a little more daring a risqué? Watch”The Philanderer”, a comedy about love and sex.

At the Court House Theatre, find out what charity really means with the comedy “The Charity that Began at Home”. Or take in performances such as “The Sea”, a play that mixes both comedy and politics about a man lost at sea after a boating accident during a storm. “Arms and the Man” is a love story of two soldiers vying for the affection of one girl. Sharing the Royal George stage is “When We Are Married”, a comedy about marriage, and “Juno and the Paycock“, a play that mixes humour, drama and politics about a family torn apart after the Irish Civil War. “The Mountaintop” is about a fictional meeting between Martin Luther King Jr. and a maid at the Lorraine Motel. Winner of the Oliver Away for best new play, “The Mountaintop” is on stage at the Studio Theatre.

Niagara Falls Hotel Reviews on the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill

Reading Time:  4 minutes -

With hundreds of Niagara Falls hotels to choose from, how do you pick a hotel that is the best suited to your needs? When you read posts from companies that operate hotels you know that they will push their facility and try to prove why they are the best accommodation choice for you. It’s one thing for a Niagara Falls hotel to dictate to you what their perceived strengths are, but isn’t it far more believable to hear the reviews from the people who have stayed there themselves?
The Clifton Hill Niagara Falls Hotel received a winning “Travellers’ Choice” award just last year for being a top “Family Hotel”, and continues to maintain a reputation for being one of — if not the top choice for a Niagara Falls hotel with the closest proximity to the most popular Niagara Falls and Clifton Hill attractions, with rates that are fair and reasonable for families on a tight income. We don’t claim to be the Hilton Hotel, but we do claim to be the hotel to go to for comfort, savings, and easy access to the heart of Niagara Falls. Your kids will love stepping out onto the balcony and being within reach of the Niagara SkyWheel and the Dinosaur Adventure Golf…and you will love being able to view the Niagara Falls Fireworks from the privacy of your own room. Fun, romance and adventure await you in Niagara Falls, and at the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill we want to make sure that we cater to each of you.

Still unsure? Here are some reviews taken right off of Trip Advisor about our hotel:

You will notice that the most common theme about the Clifton Hill Niagara Falls Hotel is our location. Location, location, location! Save money by parking your car in our lot and keep it there for the majority of your trip.  Walking distance is within 5 minutes to view the Falls and seconds to the Clifton Hill attractions. If you wish to visit the Niagara Parks attractions a little further down the Niagara Parkway, such as the Butterfly Conservatory or the Whirlpool Aero Car, the WEGO transit bus allows you to easily access these attractions at only $7.00 (13+) and $4.00 (6-12). Children 5 and under are free. The WEGO system picks you up at various stops throughout the city, and the stops are within minutes from our hotel.
For WEGO/taxi/car rental and GO Train information click here.
Our parking lot at the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill is also open for non-guests to use and our rates reflect the month and time of day that you travel; always at a fair and competitive price with no hidden fees. Park in the morning and leave late in the evening without being charged an additional fee.
View the map below for our lot and click on it for information on how to access it:

We are the only Niagara Falls hotel with the “Build-A-Package” option. Customize your own package for your stay! We will help you create the Niagara Falls experience that you want to take advantage of. Click here for information on our package options.
If you have stayed at the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill and wish to give a review of your stay, we welcome your input! Please find us on Trip Advisor and let us know how we are doing.

Niagara Falls Hotel Savings Tailored to YOU!

Reading Time:  4 minutes -

The choices of hotels in Niagara Falls are endless, but if you really want to save your money, check out the exclusive Build-A-Package offers and further Niagara Falls hotel savings at www.cliftonhill.com.
Let’s start with the location of the Clifton Hill Niagara Falls Hotel. The proximity to the Niagara Falls attractions and the Niagara Falls themselves can’t be beat. This hotel is situated right in the center of all the action, on Clifton Hill. The “Street of Fun by the Falls”, as it is also commonly referred to, has transformed over the years into the hub of the tourist district, second only to the Falls. It is in the heart of the tourist entertainment in Niagara Falls and is inundated with family fun attractions such as the Niagara SkyWheel, the Great Canadian Midway, Ripley’s Believe it or Not! Museum and wax museums such as the Movieland Wax Museum. It is also only a five-minute walk to viewing the Falls, since the bottom of Clifton Hill meets with the Niagara Parkway where you will find the Niagara Falls.

*Pictured Above: Exiting the lobby of the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill, right onto Clifton Hill!*
Parking
Don’t forget that when you factor in Niagara Falls hotel savings, parking tends to get overlooked. Some of the local big chain hotels will charge you $20+ for parking per DAY during your stay there, regardless of the time of year that you visit. The Comfort Inn Clifton Hill will not charge you parking fees at all during certain days in the year and when they do, your parking rates are reasonably priced, especially for the location of the hotel. The parking fees add up quickly, and a lot of the time hotels will conceal this information from you until the final stages of your booking.
Accessibility and Savings
Also, consider again some of the popular Niagara Falls attractions that are included in many hotel packages. The Fallsview Indoor Waterpark and the Greg Frewin Theatre are some of the more popular add-ons that the hotels will offer their guests, BUT are you actually saving money? Before you commit to a package, consider two things: accessibility and actual savings. How far is the attraction from your hotel? Will you need to tack on cab fare? Is your hotel accessible via the WEGO route? (click here to see if it is), and if you take your own car, how much is the parking at the attraction parking lot? As for savings, before you commit to a package, do your research ahead of time and actually see what an individual cost of a ticket is versus the package “savings”. I can tell you in all honesty that these package selections in the Build-A-Package are the best value in that a) The Fallsview Waterpark and the Greg Frewin are both only a five-minute walk from the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill, thus saving you both transportation costs and parking fees, and b) Our package selections that we receive from an attraction at a discount, we pass right on to the consumer, so that you will get the best possible deal. I looked into a few of the hotels in this area and found that what the attractions are charging alone is the exact same price that some of the hotels are passing on to their guests inside their packages, passing it off as a deal. Take a look at our selections in the Build-A-Package and compare it to the retail price…you will see for yourself the savings that you receive.

*Save up to 70% on the Imagine Magic Show. Click here to see for yourself*
Dining
Here’s another big one. First off, you will save huge at the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill with the “most important meal of the day”, your breakfast. Breakfast is a free deluxe full breakfast buffet served in the Poolside Café on every day that you stay with us. Check out some of the other Niagara Falls hotels in the area and you will see that they don’t offer breakfast for free at their hotel. They may offer you a $20-$30 voucher for a nearby restaurant, but here’s another thing you should research ahead of time — the menu of the restaurant in question. Let’s say the hotel that you are looking to stay at is offering a voucher for $50-70 off a meal for two. You think that’s quite a deal right? Now type in the restaurant and check out the menu prices. Sometimes, you may find that a dinner for two is $250-$300 average. Don’t be fooled by discount vouchers. Now add-on any parking fees that these restaurants may charge. Suddenly that discount doesn’t seem too remarkable anymore, does it?
At the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill, we offer as one of our Build-A-Package options, a Kelsey’s Clifton Hill dining voucher where you spend only $10 for a $20 Kelsey’s Clifton Hill Dining Voucher. The Kelsey’s menu items are diverse and inexpensive to begin with, so that 50% savings will go further than a voucher of a higher priced value at an expensive restaurant would.
Kelsey’s is also connected to the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill, so there is no parking charge that you need to factor in.
Many hotels will try to pass along Niagara Falls hotel savings to you, but you need to read between the lines and do a little bit of research. Dining discounts, attraction discounts and spa discounts are rampant, but check out the prices at these places that are offered in their packages before you make your final hotel selection. What are the menu costs and service costs of these establishments to begin with? It may surprise you how little you actually save in certain hotel packages.

Celebrate International Women’s Day in Niagara Falls…treat the lady in your life!

No question, women have evolved and have come a long way in such a short period of time.  Just a little over 100 years ago, in 1908 specifically, women’s oppression and inequality spurred women into such an outrage that 15,000 of our finest got together and marched through New York City demanding shorter hours, better pay and voting rights. This seems like such a long time ago, but in reality this affected your great grandmother and the vast majority of our grandmothers that may be still alive to recall the evolution of female acceptance and political empowerment. Fast forward to today; not only can women be celebrated as equals, but “International Women’s Day” is now an official Holiday in Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, China, Cuba, Georgia, Guinea-Bissau, Eritrea, Kazakhstan, Laos, Madagascar, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Nepal, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and Zambia! The tradition sees men honouring their mothers, wives, girlfriends and colleagues with gifts.
Niagara Falls offers everything perfect for the women in your life. The beauty of the majestic Falls in itself is enough to take her breath away, but it’s also the perfect location for family fun and a romantic getaway. The Comfort Inn Clifton Hill is only a few minutes away from a number of main attractions such as the Niagara Skywheel and a short, breath-taking travel into wine country, the famous Niagara-On-The-Lake! The town bustles with an old-time vintage image and many wineries offer wine tasting packages and tours. The Comfort Inn Clifton Hill offers many custom packages that she will love, such as the “Niagara Couples Getaway Package”. This includes a comfortable stay within the hotel and a dining voucher to either Kelsey’s or Boston Pizza also located right on property…plus some other amazing deals!

The onset of Spring has made me feel a little nostalgic and I have to mention how beautiful the trails are in Niagara. The Niagara River Recreation Trail stretches for 53 kilometers alongside the Niagara River. I have had some of my best times through those trails and make sure to bring your camera! I jog my way through those trails alone, yet in welcome company with the number of plaques and monuments that are marked throughout the lush vegetation. She will love it!
While you are on the Niagara Parkway, be sure to stop into the Butterfly Conservatory. There is over 2,000 tropical butterflies that flutter freely around you as you stroll through this tropical, self-guided pathway. Currently, until May 12, 2013, they have an added exhibit as well that is free with your entry price called the VENOM exhibit. Don’t worry, all is safe! While she is busy with the butterflies, you men can catch up with snakes, spiders and amphibians…oh my!

In honour of International Women’s Day I also have to mention that if you happened upon this blog and you are a woman or you know a woman that needs help, the Niagara Region offers two places that you can turn to for support. Gillian’s Place (905-684-8331) and Women’s Place of South Niagara (905-356-5800). They are both devoted to ending abuse by empowering women with safe shelter,24 hour support lines, emotional support and legal advice.
Happy International Women’s Day!
