September is particularly easy to plan around because an event does not have to take over the entire trip. Visitors can spend part of the day at a festival or concert, then return to the Falls, Clifton Hill, restaurants and attractions before the fireworks begin at night.
Labour Day Weekend on Clifton Hill

September begins with Labour Day Weekend, one of the final major long weekends of the summer travel season.
Clifton Hill remains at the centre of the action, with the Niagara SkyWheel, Niagara Speedway, Great Canadian Midway, Dinosaur Adventure Golf, Wizards’ Golf, Movieland Wax Museum, Creepy Castle and other attractions making it easy for families to build a flexible day rather than follow a strict schedule.
The long weekend also overlaps with the opening of the Niagara Grape & Wine Festival and several concerts in Niagara Falls. The Floral Showhouse Annual Summer Show continues through September 7.
Once evening arrives, visitors can walk toward the Falls for illumination and the 10 p.m. fireworks before returning to Clifton Hill after dark. Niagara Parks confirms that the 2026 fireworks series runs nightly from May 15 through October 12.
Salsa at Niagara Falls
September 12–13 | Queen Victoria Park
One of the strongest additions to the September 2026 calendar happens right at the bottom of Clifton Hill.
Salsa at Niagara Falls makes its debut September 12 and 13 in Queen Victoria Park, bringing live Latin music, dancing, food, vendors and family-friendly entertainment beside the Falls. More than 300 performers and artists are expected across the weekend, and admission is free.
The setting makes this event especially convenient for Niagara Falls visitors. Queen Victoria Park is directly connected to the central Falls tourism district, so a festival visit can easily be combined with Clifton Hill attractions, restaurants and sightseeing.

Niagara 5000 Brings Supercars to the Falls

September’s biggest event weekend begins with some serious horsepower.
Niagara 5000 returns September 18 and 19 after drawing more than 10,000 attendees and over 230 supercars in 2025. The multi-day event combines exotic automobiles, private aviation and luxury experiences across Niagara.
September 18 is the day of greatest interest for visitors staying in the Niagara Falls tourism district. Events include Exotics at Fallsview Casino and a Supercar Parade through the Niagara Parks area, bringing the cars into the heart of the destination.
On September 19, the main automotive and aviation showcase moves to Niagara District Airport in Niagara-on-the-Lake, with high-speed runs, autocross activities and vehicle and aircraft displays.
For casual visitors who mainly want to see the cars, the Niagara Falls portion makes Niagara 5000 particularly easy to combine with an afternoon or evening around Clifton Hill.
Misty City Music Festival
September 18–20 | Fallsview Event Grounds
The same weekend brings one of Niagara Falls’ largest music festivals of 2026.
Misty City Music Festival takes over the Fallsview Event Grounds at 6727 Stanley Avenue from September 18 through 20 for three days of country music, food and entertainment.
Friday is headlined by Jake Owen, with Dylan Marlowe, Alli Walker and other performers. Saturday brings Jon Pardi, Dustin Lynch and Lonestar, while Brooks & Dunn headline Sunday alongside Jackson Dean, Avery Anna and a larger supporting lineup.
Misty City is particularly relevant to Niagara Falls travellers because it takes place within the main Fallsview tourism area rather than at a distant regional venue. Visitors can spend the earlier part of the day at the Falls or Clifton Hill, attend the festival, and still have plenty happening nearby after the show.
With Niagara 5000 happening at the same time, September 18–20 is arguably the biggest event weekend of the month in Niagara Falls.
Monster Trucks All Out
September 26 | Fallsview Event Grounds
The Fallsview Event Grounds get loud again the following weekend when Monster Trucks All Out arrives September 26.
The outdoor show includes nationally recognized monster trucks, quad racing, a pre-show pit party and optional monster-truck rides. Two performances are scheduled for 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. at 6727 Stanley Avenue.
For families already visiting Niagara Falls, it works well as the main event within a larger day that includes Clifton Hill and the Falls rather than requiring a separate regional excursion.

One of September’s biggest attractions is not limited to a single weekend.
The Niagara Falls Fireworks Series continues every night at 10 p.m. through October 12, 2026, giving September visitors the same nightly spectacle available during the peak summer period.
Queen Victoria Park and the Niagara Parkway offer classic ground-level views. Clifton Hill adds another option: visitors can experience the tourism district before or after the show, or take in an elevated view from the Niagara SkyWheel.
The nightly Falls Illumination continues as well, so there is no need to rush away once the fireworks finish. September nights remain one of the best times to experience Niagara Falls after dark.

It also provides a convenient base when combining Clifton Hill with concerts and larger events elsewhere in Fallsview. For events farther from the Falls, including regional wine festivals, visitors should plan on driving or using local transportation.
Niagara Grape & Wine Festival

Not every major September festival takes place beside the Falls.
The Niagara Grape & Wine Festival is the region’s signature harvest celebration and marks its 75th anniversary in 2026. The month-long festival connects Niagara wineries with larger celebrations in downtown St. Catharines.

The popular Discovery Pass runs September 4–6, 11–13 and 18–20 at 25 participating Niagara wineries, allowing visitors to create a self-guided route featuring local wines paired with seasonal dishes.

Looking Ahead: Cicada Music & Arts Festival

Niagara’s festival season does not stop at the end of September.
Just a few days later, the Cicada Music & Arts Festival returns to Henley Island in St. Catharines on October 2 and 3.
Metric headlines Friday night, joined by USS, The Zolas, SonReal and others. Bahamas leads Saturday’s lineup, with Wintersleep, Hawksley Workman, Boy Golden, Katie Tupper and additional Canadian performers across several stages.
Cicada combines live Canadian music with local food, makers and art in the waterfront setting of Henley Island. For travellers considering a late-September or early-October Niagara getaway, it provides a strong reason to extend the festival calendar into the first weekend of October.
