It’s almost here — the dreaded final days of Summer before school starts. If you haven’t had a chance to escape and take a mini vacation this Summer, now could be your time to get in a vacation before the leaves start to turn colour — or for Winter — you choose! Similar to our previous contest that celebrated the opportunity to get away mid-Summer, here is another chance to celebrate getting away at the end of Summer!  We’d like to have you enter to enjoy a Niagara Falls “End of Summer” Getaway Contest! We will pick one winner at random on Monday, August 25th, 2014 and the winner will be announced and contacted directly. The contest runs from Thursday, August 14th, 2014 until Saturday, August 23rd, 2014.

Stepping onto Clifton Hill, you can’t help but notice the wide-array of haunted houses — the Haunted House, Dracula’s Castle and the House of Frankenstein all align the street, with Screamers and Nightmares Fear Factory just around the corner on Victoria Avenue — which got me thinking about a Niagara Falls Halloween contest….


Just a short drive from the Falls is Stevensville — the home of the family-friendly and very popular Safari Niagara zoo and amphitheatre. On Saturday, October 12th, 2013 they will be holding the Inaugural “Boo at the Zoo” event. It’s their first ever Halloween event, held rain or shine from 10:00am – 4:00pm. Trick-or-treat around the zoo, participate in games, activities, costume contests and more! Children 12 and under are FREE when they are dressed in costume and adults are $15+tax. Donations of non-perishable food items are appreciated in support of Fort Erie COPE.

Schedule of Events:
10:00am: Safari Niagara opens
10:15am: Halloween Amphitheatre Activities Begin
11:00am: Costume Contest (ages 0-5) in Amphitheatre
11:30am: Costume Contest (ages 6-12) in Amphitheatre
12:15pm – 12:45pm: Animal Presentation at Zooniversity
1:15pm: Costume Contest (Adults) in Amphitheatre
3:30pm: Costume Contest (Safari Niagara Staff) in Amphitheatre
4:00pm: Safari Niagara Closes
In addition, there will be over 35 local businesses and organizations set up offering trick-or-treating throughout the park for the little ones — and adults! 😉

This year, our Niagara Falls Halloween contest is 2 admissions to the Safari Niagara “Boo at the Zoo” event on Saturday, October 12th, 2013 (remember children 12 and under are free in costume…so this covers Mom and Dad!) October 1-2, 2010 marks the largest skate contest to hit Canada in 2010 with the West 49 Take the Cake Presented by Schick Xtreme 3 and the Axe Twist Amateur Open. This is Canada’s largest cash purse event in Canadian skateboarding history with $100,000.00 CDN in prize money being awarded. Fifteen of the world’s best international skaters will descend on the Oakes Garden Theatre in Niagara Falls on Oct 1st and 2nd to showcase their tricks on a best trick stair set up.
Thanks to some of the great brand partnerships, confirmed to attend this explosive event are : Paul Rodriguez “P-Rod” (Plan B), Chaz Ortiz (Zoo York), Alex Olson (Quiksilver), Torey Pudwill (DVS), Sierra Fellers (C1RCA), Matt Miller (DC), Corey Duffel (OSIRIS), Darrell Stanton (ELEMENT), Chima Ferguson (Volcom), Paul Trep (RDS), Grant Patterson (Redst*r), Shuriken Shannon (Billabong), Brandon Westgate (Emerica), and Tom Asta (Fallen) are all coming to compete. The two day event is an outdoor event with Niagara Falls in the backdrop and showcases a live performance by Canadian hip hop musician SHAD.

youDiscover Competition announces first 14 bands to perform in Niagara Falls
