7 Reasons to Visit the Niagara Falls Comic Con This Year

Reading Time:  3 minutes -The sixth annual Niagara Falls Comic Con is over three days on Friday, June 2 – Sunday, June 4th, 2017. With so much excitement planned for this year’s venue, here are just 7 reasons to make your way to the Scotiabank Convention Centre that weekend!

1. To Hear Freddy Krueger Give You Hell

This year, Robert Englund will be arriving to sign autographs and meet his fans. You’d know him for his roles as Freddy Krueger in Wes Craven’s “Nightmare on Elm Street” series from 1984-2003. Hearing him say your name may give you…nightmares.

Robert will be appearing on all 3 days.

2. Victor Newman’s Temper

With 37 years as Victor Newman on the “Young & the Restless”, German-born Eric Braeden has earned the right to get mad at whomever he wants as Soap Opera’s King of daytime television. He is iconic for his long fuse, and then sudden sparks of temper as Victor Newman. The Victor death stare is worth every penny in my books.

Sunday only from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm.

3. Chewie

Peter Mayhew was cast as Chewbacca, the loyal sidekick of Han Solo. He is without a doubt, one of most memorable characters of the Star Wars franchise since the beginning of the series in 1977. Standing 7 feet 3 inches, he is irreplaceable as the loveable creature!

Peter will be appearing on all 3 days.

4. Artist Guest of Honour, Mark Bagley

Mark Bagley grew to be considered the definitive “Spider-Man” artist of the mid-1990s. He has worked for Marvel Comics and DC Comics on such titles as The Amazing Spider-Man, Thunderbolts, and Ultimate Spider-Man. Besides Spider-Man, Bagley did the first 25 books of New Warriors. Bagley’s other credits include Alias, Fantastic Four, Night Thrasher, and Robocop.

Appearing on Saturday and Sunday.

5. 5 Cast Members From The Original Degrassi High

The original “Degrassi High” ran from 1987-1991 and it was THE show of that time that highlighted the lives and trials of students of a city high school.

On Saturday ONLY, the Niagara Falls Comic Con will have 5 of the original cast members:

  • Pat Mastroianni – Joey Jeremiah
  • Stefan Brogen – “Snake” (Archie Simpson)
  • Stacie Mistysyn – Caitlin Ryan
  • Siluck Saysanasy – Yick Yu
  • Kirsten Bourne – Tessa Campanelli

6. To Be In the Presence of J. Peterman

Appearing on all 3 Days

John O’Hurley is best known for the role of J. Peterman, eccentric adventurer and world-traveler, on the legendary sitcom “Seinfeld”. Peterman was Elaine’s boss and the founder of The J. Peterman Company.

7. It draws over 25,000 fans over the weekend — making it one of Niagara Falls’ biggest events of the year!
