5 Reasons why Clifton Hill is a MUST this Holiday Season

Next to the Niagara Falls itself, visiting Clifton Hill is a staple of Niagara Tourism. People have always considered Clifton Hill as a “Summer destination”, but nothing could be farther from the truth! We like to think of ourselves as a “year round” destination. Here are 5 reasons why Clifton Hill should be on top of your mind this Holiday Season.

  1. We are open 365 days a year.

We cater to tourism. That said, there are many people who travel when they get their time off of work — Christmas Holidays being one of them. It is estimated that the Niagara Falls receives an estimated 30 million visitors in a year; with a huge bulk of those travelers that wish to frequent family fun attractions, restaurants, and shops. This is why the Clifton Hill facilities will stay open 365 days a year. There is no sense in staying at any Niagara Falls hotel without having fun options and things to do!
We offer attractions that will remain open that some people are shocked to hear, such as the Niagara SkyWheel which is climate-controlled and enclosed, and not open to the elements like the traditional ferris wheels. The SkyWheel is actually an “observation wheel”; which basically translates into an essentially bigger and more sophisticated Ferris wheel.
Don’t assume that just because it’s cold out that our concession stands won’t be open! Looking for a Waffle Cone or Dippin’ Dots? You got it! We will be open over the Holiday season. Stay connected with our Clifton Hill Hours of Operation which gets updated as the days go on.

     2. Who would have thought? We are romantic too.
Holiday season
You don’t generally think of Clifton Hill as the place to go for romance — but we are! With this year’s Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights taking place from November 21st, 2015 to January 31st, 2016, Clifton Hill is a Winter Wonderland of romantic lights! The top of Clifton Hill and Victoria Avenue features a gorgeous lit up 3D Santa’s Sleigh that you can be seated inside, along with a new location for the JinJu lantern displays along the promenade. Sit yourself inside a giant lit up heart for the perfect “selfie” or a proposal perhaps?
Towards the bottom of Clifton Hill is the gorgeous Oakes Garden Theatre which is decorated in an abundance of lights and vibrant lit trees. The Oakes Garden Theatre has always been the place to go for the perfect engagement or wedding photo. It is a quiet, romantic, and serene location on Clifton Hill/Niagara Parkway for an ideal photo opportunity.

What is romance without the Niagara Falls fireworks shows? They occur every Friday at 9:00 pm during the Winter until January 29th, 2016, and during the Holiday season all shows will be nightly at 9:00 pm from December 21st to December 26th!
