A Legacy of Innovation

Since 1885, the Maid of the Mist has carried millions of passengers into the thunderous mist of Niagara Falls. In 2020, the attraction made history by transitioning to an all-electric fleet, becoming the first zero-emission vessel operation of its kind in North America. Powered by clean hydroelectric energy harnessed from the falls themselves, these quiet, emission-free boats deliver the same awe-inspiring experience while protecting the natural wonder they showcase.

“Our electric fleet has been a game-changer, blending sustainability with the power of Niagara,” says spokesperson Kevin Keenan. “Five years in, we’re proud to offer an experience that’s as kind to the environment as it is thrilling for visitors.”

Why It’s a Must-Do Experience

There’s no better way to witness the raw power of Niagara Falls than aboard the Maid of the Mist. The 20-minute tour takes passengers past the American and Bridal Veil Falls before venturing into the basin of Horseshoe Falls, where 600,000 gallons of water crash down each second. Ponchos are provided (you’ll need them!), but the memories—and photos—last a lifetime.

Final Note: With its historic legacy and sustainable operation, the Maid of the Mist remains a must-visit attraction for travelers seeking adventure, innovation, and a deep connection to nature.
