2. Spooky Map Tour: Take a tour through the city to explore the chilling displays. You can embark on this eerie adventure with your friends and family, and the displays remain lit until Halloween night, creating a bone-chilling spectacle.
3. Have a Say: Get involved by casting your vote in the People’s Choice Awards. Public voting opens from 6:00 PM on October 27 to 10:00 PM on October 29. Your vote has the power to determine this year’s spookiest masterpiece.
4. Keep Up with the Thrills: Follow the competition’s unfolding drama on Facebook. Competitors actively campaign for visits and votes by sharing spooky photos and videos of their displays.
Embrace the Spooky Rules
The Niagara Falls Spooky Awards have a set of rules and guidelines to ensure a fair and safe competition:
- Participation is open to residential and commercial properties in the City of Niagara Falls, Ontario.
- The competition takes place from Friday, October 27 to Sunday, October 29, between the hours of 6 PM and 10 PM.
- Decorations must be visible from the curbside and family-friendly (PG-13).
- Lighting, special effects, and inflatables must operate each night during the competition.
- Photos and media of your displays will be shared online for all to see.
- Don’t forget to place the official Spooky Awards Entry lawn signs in your yard. They’re free and available at the MacBain Centre.
Eerie Judging and Spine-Tingling Prizes
The spine-chilling displays will be judged based on various criteria, ensuring an electrifying competition:

- 1st place winners will receive the prestigious Spooky Awards trophy.
- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will proudly display a commemorative lawn sign, acknowledging their spooky brilliance and their specific category.
- 1st place winners will also take home a $100 gift card of their choice.
- 2nd place winners will be rewarded with a $75 gift card.
- 3rd place winners will receive a $50 gift card.
