SickKids Foundation: “Soiree Under the Stars” Event

Reading Time:  3 minutes -

As many of you can imagine, working on Clifton Hill in Niagara Falls is primarily a “family fun” street, and centers around our love for children. We love to see children happy and healthy, so certain events are important to our company; and they don’t always have to happen in the Niagara Region. SickKids Foundation is the largest charitable funder of child health research, learning and care in Canada, describing  SickKids Foundation mission as “To inspire our communities to invest in health and scientific advances to improve the lives of children and their families in Canada and around the world”.
This year, one of the biggest funding priorities is the Operating Suites Redevelopment project. SickKids Foundation is needed to raise money from the community due to the fact that SickKids Hospital performs more surgeries than any other pediatric hospital in Canada — more than 12,000 annually to be exact, on some of the sickest children in the world.
Did you know?
1652 – Is the number of minimally invasive surgeries performed in 2013.
85%  Is the percentage of pediatric heart surgeries in Ontario that are performed at SickKids Hospital.
2722 – The number of emergency surgeries performed by SickKids surgeons in 2013.
65+ – Transplantation surgeries that are conducted each year.
This June 12, they will be putting on the 13th Annual “Scrubs in the City: Soiree Under the Stars” Fundraising Event. Scrubs in the City has become one of Toronto’s most anticipated social events, with an evening of fabulous fashion, food and entertainment. All net proceeds from the “Soiree Under the Stars” will support the SickKids Operating Suites Redevelopment Project. So far, “Scrubs in the City” has generated more than $2.4 million for SickKids! This project will “accommodate cutting-edge technology, elevate health and safety standards, and improve patient outcomes.”

What is the Soiree Under the Stars?
Instead of your “little black dress”, you trade it in to wear white — representing, acknowledging and recognizing all our hard-working doctors and team that wear their scrubs everyday to devote the wellness of our children. Soiree “into the night dressed in white”!
This is a night of fashion, food and entertainment.
