Ten acres of paradise located immediately above the Falls.
In recent years, efforts have been made to further naturalize this area with the introduction of fish, the installation of bird feeding stations and bird boxes, as well as planting indigenous vegetation appropriate for this environment. The "catch and release" fish program has been incredibly popular with the public.
Picnicking opportunities are available, as are trails amongst the islands.
In order to extend the tourist season, especially during the "Winter Festival of Lights" from mid November to January, when several animated displays are placed around the perimeter of the island.
When fishing in Ontario it is required by the Ministry of Natural Resources that anyone over 18 years of age have a valid fishing permit - information is available at 1-800-387-7011 or www.mnr.gov.on.ca/MNR/fishing.
