Labour Day has a way of feeling different from every other summer weekend. The days are still warm, Niagara Falls is still in full summer mode, and Clifton Hill is still buzzing late into the night\u2014but the first signs of fall are already around the corner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2026, Labour Day weekend runs from Friday, September 4 through Monday, September 7<\/strong>, giving families one final long weekend to stretch out summer before school schedules, earlier sunsets and autumn routines take over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The trick is not trying to squeeze everything into a marathon itinerary. Clifton Hill works best when the day has room to change pace: a big view of Niagara Falls, a little friendly competition, something unexpected indoors, dinner when everyone needs a break, and the bright lights of the Hill after sunset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Start the Day With Niagara Falls in Front of You<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Before the afternoon crowds build, head toward the bottom of Clifton Hill and the Niagara Parkway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From here, the Falls are only a short walk away. Queen Victoria Park, the Niagara River and the viewpoints overlooking the American and Horseshoe Falls give everyone time to enjoy the reason Niagara became famous in the first place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Families planning several attractions can also compare individual admission with the Clifton Hill Fun Pass<\/strong>, which currently combines six attractions into one package and allows attractions to be visited in any order. The Great Canadian Midway<\/strong> is one of the easiest places to let the afternoon take its own course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 70,000-square-foot entertainment centre contains more than 300 games, ranging from modern interactive challenges to familiar arcade favourites. Rather than paper tickets, games use PlayCard credits, making it simple to jump between games and keep the competition going.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
