There is a point each evening when Clifton Hill seems to change character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As daylight fades over Niagara Falls, the Niagara SkyWheel<\/strong> becomes a glowing landmark above the street. The lights come on around Niagara Speedway<\/strong>, arcade entrances spill colour onto the sidewalks, restaurant patios fill, and the entertainment district takes on a distinctly more theatrical atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few minutes downhill, the mood changes again. The attraction lights begin to recede, the sound of the Falls becomes more prominent, and the illuminated American and Horseshoe Falls emerge through the evening mist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That contrast is one of the best reasons to experience Clifton Hill after dark. Within a relatively compact area, visitors can move between rides, games, restaurants, the Niagara Parkway and some of the best nighttime views of Niagara Falls largely on foot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The best evening is not necessarily the one where you fit in the most attractions. Start before dark, choose a few experiences that suit your group, make time for the illuminated Falls, and let the night unfold from there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arrive Before Sunset and Watch Clifton Hill Change<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Arriving before sunset gives you a chance to experience both sides of Clifton Hill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is still enough daylight for photographs and sightseeing, but the nighttime atmosphere is beginning to take over. The SkyWheel <\/strong>becomes more prominent, attraction lighting starts to define the streetscape, and the energy of the district gradually shifts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is also a practical time to begin. Have dinner, ride the SkyWheel<\/strong>, race the Speedway <\/strong>or start a round of mini-golf before moving toward the Falls once twilight deepens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If this is your first visit, walk Clifton Hill twice: once before full darkness and again later in the evening. The route is the same, but the experience is not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the top, riders can see the Horseshoe and American Falls, Niagara River, Niagara Parks and the surrounding tourism district.
