The Niagara Falls Public Library records the tale as a local legend\u2014a useful distinction when exploring a place where storytelling has become part of the attraction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For visitors, the appeal lies in that combination of old stonework, an unusual setting and a ghost story with several competing versions. Come for the curiosity. The sources reviewed do not establish a verified identity or date for the girl. In that telling, a woman would enter the passage after arguments with her husband and scream.
