They have released these facilities listed as&nbsp;<strong>Niagara Falls warming centres.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following sites are available to anyone that needs a place to keep warm during these extreme cold temperatures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WARMING CENTRES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Coronation Centre<\/strong>: Open Daily from <span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">12:00pm to 5:00pm<\/span> (5925 Summer Street)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A warming centre will open at Coronation Centre on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. (5925 Summer Street). Until April 15, 2022, this location will be open daily from 12:00pm to 5:00pm. Once inside, visitors can enjoy a light supper, bathrooms, and other facilities provided by the personnel, such as accessing services. Summer Street is the main entrance to the complex.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>Niagara Falls Public Library &#8211; Victoria Avenue Branch: <\/strong><\/strong>10:00AM and 4:00PM (4848 Victoria Avenue):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>During a declared Extreme Cold Weather event (days when temperatures are forecasted to reach -15\u00b0C (5\u00b0F) or lower, or when wind chills are forecasted to drop to or below -20\u00b0C (-4\u00b0F), anyone seeking relief from the extreme cold is welcome to keep warm and stay safe at the Niagara Falls Public Library \u2014 Victoria Avenue Branch between the hours of 10:00AM and 4:00PM. <\/li><li>The amount of space available is limited.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Niagara Falls Transit &#8211; Rides to Warming Centres During Extreme Cold Events<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On days when temperatures are anticipated to dip to or below -15\u00b0C (5\u00b0F) or wind chills are forecasted to drop to or below -20\u00b0C (-4\u00b0F), Niagara Falls Transit provides free bus trips to the warming centres indicated above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Niagara Falls City Council, Start Me Up Niagara, Niagara Falls Public Library, and Niagara Region collaborated to bring these warming centres to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Extended Day Shelter<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyone seeking relief from the cold can visit the following place for a morning day shelter:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>*Third Space (4345 Queen Street, Niagara Falls)<\/li><li>Open from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.<\/li><li>Every day of the week<\/li><li>There is a limited amount of space available.<\/li><li>*A declaration of an Extreme Cold Weather Event is not required to use this facility for heating.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Shower Facilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Mondays and Thursdays (except holidays), from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., shower facilities are available at Gale Centre, 5152 Thorold Stone Road.<\/li><li>Towels and shower materials are included in the price.<ul><li>If possible, employees at Out of the Cold (5645 Morrison Street) will arrange for a transfer to the Gale Centre so that shelter guests can use the showers.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\n<strong>OVERNIGHT EMERGENCY SHELTER<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Start Me Up Niagara operates the St. Andrew&#8217;s Seasonal Shelter (for men and women) at St. Andrew&#8217;s United Church (5645 Morrison Street).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Every night between 7:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m.<\/li><li>The amount of space available is limited.<\/li><li>Upon arrival to the shelter, the Soup Kitchen delivered a bagged dinner.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Men, women, women with children, and families may be able to find emergency shelter at the YWCA of Niagara Region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>For locations and availability, dial 2-1-1.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Youth emergency shelters, as well as women and children-only shelters, may be available at the following locations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.boysandgirlsclubniagara.org\/programs\/youth-housing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Youth Shelter at Nightlight<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/womensplacesn.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">South Niagara Women&#8217;s Place<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Please contact 2-1-1 or visit the 211<a href=\"https:\/\/211ontario.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Community Information Database<\/a> for the most up-to-date information on emergency shelter sites. Individuals can seek emergency refuge at many locations throughout the Niagara region.<br>Niagara Region Social Services, Hostels and Homelessness Prevention, and Public Health may also have more resources.
