Opening Ceremonies of the Winter Festival of Lights<\/h3>\n

Time: 11:00 am – 9:00 pm<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Opening Ceremonies happen in\u00a0Queen Victoria Park<\/a>, along the Niagara Parkway.
\nThe darkness of the night will be lit up by the enchanting displays of the Ontario Power Generation Winter Festival of Lights throughout this festive season. In addition to the “flip-of-the-switch” during the opening ceremony, performers will electrify the crowd with an extraordinary show.
\nThis event is free to the public and features family-friendly entertainment, food trucks, interactive displays and special guests. Kids entertainment will run from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM with appearances by the Paw Patrol, shows by the MiniPop Kids, the Home Depot kids workshop, the Heartland Forest train, face painting and more. Starting at 4:00 PM, Beverley Mahood & Friends will take the main stage with performances by Julian Taylor, Brad Battle, Mac Sheppard, Jamie Warren, Leah Daniels & Beverley Mahood.,\u00a0plus fireworks over the Niagara Falls.<\/p>\n

There will be two sets of fireworks at 8:00 pm and 9:00 pm.<\/p>\n

This November see the skies explode with color, lights and sounds over Niagara Falls as the premiere edition of the “Cascades of Fire International Fireworks Competition<\/a>” kicks off. This grand event is widely anticipated to become the largest and most impressive firework show in the country this fall!<\/p>\n

These remarkable displays will thrill audiences from across the region with events on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays over 6 weekend nights, starting November 9th<\/sup>, 2018. Cascades of Fire boasts multiple 18-minute pyrotechnic light shows, beautifully matched to music.<\/p>\n

COMMUNITY YOGA SERIES: November 1st, 15th, 29th from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm:<\/p>\n

Join Shine On Yoga for a FREE community yoga class. Relaxing hatha yoga class, geared toward reducing stress and anxiety, improving sleep quality and maintaining or re-gaining your health. No yoga experience necessary. Wear comfortable clothing, bring a water bottle and a yoga mat if you have one. Recommended for ages 16 and up. 20 Participants max, please come early to ensure a spot.<\/p>\n

TOUCH TOUR: MUSEUM COLLECTION BEHIND-THE-SCENES: November 1st from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm:<\/p>\n

Join Assistant Curator, Sara Byers as she takes you behind the scenes. Explore the artifact storage room and get hands on with the museum collection. Understand what the museums collect and why. Learn stories behind some rarely seen artifacts and share your own insights. Free tour.\u00a0Tour starts at 6:00 & 7:00 sharp. Not suitable for young children.
