“The Grove” (located behind the Floral Showcase in Niagara Falls, ON) will be jamming to the sizzling sounds of scintillating reggae grooves, dance-floor rocking party funk and some of the finest acts in classic soul and R&B as it hosts The One Love Order @ The Border festival from June 4-6.
Showcasing over 35 international artists as well as several up and coming local acts, the highly anticipated festival is the first of its kind in the Niagara Region and its genre-crossing, stellar line-up should appeal to any age group.

Freddie McGregor headlines Friday’s line-up of classic reggae. A veteran musical institution for five decades, McGregor’s many hits include “Push Comes To Shove,” “Big Ship,” and “Africa, Here I Come” each a classic of “Lovers Rock” and conscious reggae. Also scheduled for Friday are Johnny Osbourne, Errol Dunkley, and Lone Ranger; all three venerable performers in reggae and dancehall, respectively. Peter Ranking, Carlton Livingston, Prezident Brown and Jah Bouks round out the day’s island vibes.

If you’re looking to get your groove on to the sounds of vintage funk, look no further than the Bay Area-bred party machine known as ConFunkShun who’ll be bringing quintessential dance jams like “Ffun,” and “Shake and Dance with Me” to their Saturday performance. Cleveland’s Dazz Band (best known for their massive hit “Let It Whip”) should be expected to rock the house with their blend of high-energy electro-funk and romantic soul. Fans of homegrown talent as well as the ladies in the crowd will want to check out the smooth R&B pop of Show Stephens while Grammy nominated smooth soul man Carl Thomas is the final scheduled act for Saturday.

With 12 Top Twenty Singles and seven gold albums over the course of over four decades, The Whispers are a must see for any classic soul fan and their impressive resume of hits which runs the gamut from sultry balladry to infectious dance tracks is scheduled to close Sunday’s line-up. One of the true queens of modern R&B: Faith Evans will also be taking the stage along with nouveau bluesman Corey Harris and Ontario reggae crooner Uncle Jonny. Fans of unheralded classic soul won’t want to miss Lenny Williams who fronted Niagara favorites Tower of Power from 1973-1974.
