Strike Rock N’ Bowl Hits Popular Niagara Falls Tourist District

May 11, 2009

25,000 Square Foot Bowling Centre Hits Popular Niagara Falls Tourist District
Now, there is even more fun to experience on Clifton Hill!

NIAGARA FALLS, ON – Monday, May 11, 2009 – Locals and visitors to the Niagara Falls area are invited to experience the all new Strike Rock N’ Bowl – an upscale Bowling and Entertainment Centre – which recently opened May 8th. 2009.

The massive 25,000 square foot centre – located in the heart of the Clifton Hill tourist area, will be the first of its kind to hit Niagara Falls, Canada.

“This is definitely not your grandfather’s bowling alley,” said Philip Oakes, Director of Operations. “Strike Rock N’ Bowl is truly a modern, family-focused entertainment centre for the 21st century.”

There are 14 full sized bowling lanes, multiple billiard tables, full amusement arcade, a dining area, and sports bar. Up to six people can bowl on a single lane. The décor is modern and comfortable, with high-backed seating, cozy bar stools, custom floor coverings, and modern lighting. Strike Rock N’ Bowl provides a great place to enjoy some exciting games, delicious food and great family fun.

Created exclusively for recreational bowling and family fun, bowlers of all ages will be immediately impressed with the automated scoring system, the touch screen monitors, high-definition audio/visual system, plus intelligent LED lane lighting, all of which create truly electrifying bowling experience.

Smaller children – and people new to bowling – will appreciate a special bumper-bowling feature that eliminates gutter balls. Special bumper-rails in the gutters can be raised and lowered on a player-by-player basis, allowing the entire family to have a fun bowling experience.

A full Boston Pizza food and bar menu is available, including gourmet pizzas, delectable pasta, mouth-watering appetizers, meal-sized salads, entrees, desserts and a variety of beer, wine and spirits.

Plus, between eating and bowling families can enjoy the high-tech video arcade, which contains some of the latest video and ticket redemption games in Canada.

Strike Rock N’ Bowl is the perfect addition to the Clifton Hill family entertainment area, which also features major attractions like the Niagara SkyWheel, Casino Niagara, the Maid of the Mist along with multiple wax museums, mini golf courses, amusement arcades, theme restaurants, nightclubs and more. All within walking distance from the spectacular Niagara Falls cascade.

During your next visit to Niagara Falls be sure drop by Clifton Hill and Strike Rock N’ Bowl (Located next to the Niagara SkyWheel). The facility is open from 10am to 2am, seven days a week. House balls and rental shoes are available for bowlers of all ages. You can visit Strike Rock N’ Bowl in person or call 905-358-4788 for more information.

Legendary duo Cheech and Chong play Niagara Falls casino

They’re back from the ’70s
‘We came up from nothing’ Legendary duo Cheech and Chong play Falls casino
Posted By JOHN LAW REVIEW STAFF WRITER

One jokes that it’s all about paying his legal bills. The other says it’s about alimony.

Their fans simply say it’s about time.

Whatever the reason Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong decided to bury the hatchet, the legendary comedy team’s “Light Up America and Canada Tour” has been a hit since it launched in Ottawa on Sept. 5.

Maybe because everything seems strangely familiar, says Marin. When Cheech and Chong launched their stoner schtick in the late 1960s, America looked a lot like it does now.

“It’s exactly the same situation as when we first started,” he says, on the line from Los Angeles. “Unpopular president, unpopular war, economy in chaos. You just substitute Nixon for Bush and it’s the same.

“Cheech and Chong has sort of transcended every age category, every ethnic category, every economic category. It’s like … who likes butter? Everybody likes butter! It has nothing to do with how you think.” (more…)
