The White House on Monday confirmed the visit by the daughters of President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama, in a brief e-mail response to a question from The Buffalo News, but declined to reveal any details of the trip. (more…)

Once right on Clifton Hill, it then moved up the driveway to the Comfort Inn Clifton Hill. As the trees, grass, and gardens have matured, it has turned into a gorgeous outdoor miniature golf course. You are surrounded by dinosaurs in a lush tropical environment. I was very impressed with the surroundings.

A $1-billion bridge over the Welland Canal or tunnel under it isn’t out of the question if GO Transit decides that’s what’s needed to extend train service to Niagara Falls, says Ontario Transportation Minister Kathleen Wynne.
“These projects do cost a lot of money and can take a lot of time,” Wynne said before a speech in Niagara-on-the- Lake. “I’m not deterred or discouraged by the amount of money it might cost. GO Train riders will soon have more room on the platform in Niagara Falls.
This morning, MP Rob Nicholson and MPP Kim Craitor announced the construction of a new $1.4 million dollar GO Train Platform at the VIA Rail station.
The new platform should improve GO Train service by speeding up custom clearance for trains and providing room to load and unload GO Trains.
Craitor says this is the next step to bringing full GO Rail service to Niagara.
A weekend and holiday GO Train run between Niagara Falls and Union Station was launched in June 2009.
Craitor joins Stephanie Sabourin with more on the project on today’s Niagara at Noon.
