Our community has had great success over the last five years with the Sleep Cheap Charities
Reap event, raising over $500,000 to benefit local charities! Participation on both the hoteliers
and community’s part has been overwhelming, and the financial support Sleep Cheap has
provided to local charities invaluable. We look forward to keeping the momentum going with this
year’s event!
All funds raised through the Sleep Cheap event go to charity with:
• 50% provided to the Niagara Community Foundation, where the money is put into
permanent, income-earning endowment funds that benefit local charities; and
• 50% directed to charities identified by the Sleep Cheap Charities Reap committee.
The 2009 recipients of the charitable donations, as selected by the Sleep Cheap Charities Reap
Committee through an application process, will be announced in December.
Some of last year’s recipients were the Alzheimers’ Society of Niagara Region, Goodwill
Niagara, Stamford Collegiate Breakfast Club, Red Roof Retreat and the Niagara Peninsula
Children’s Centre.
