<p>On July 24, 2008, the City of Welland will officially celebrate its 150th Anniversary as an incorporated municipality. Anniversary Weekend events include:</p>
<p>July 24  -              Governor General Gala - the Governor General has been invited to join the 150th Anniversary celebrations.  We are awaiting a reply to the invitation!</p>
<p>Fireworks - A special display of fireworks for the 150th Anniversary.</p>
<p>Official proclamation of Welland&#8217;s Incorporation as a municipality.</p>
<p>July 25  -               Street Dance</p>
<p>Mayor&#8217;s Challenge - exact details of the challenge are not being disclosed, however, it will take place partially on the Welland Canal.</p>
<p>Photo Displays and Projection - Photos from the past 150 years of Welland will be on display at several locations.  There will also be an outdoor video projection of photos.</p>
<p>July 26 - 27 -      Kids Day in the Park - A fun-filled day for children at Merritt Park.  There will be inflatables, games, clowns, a magician, peddle boats on the canal and more!</p>
